TSX-listed Loncor Gold has established a special committee comprised of independent board directors to review an unsolicited nonbinding offer received from an interested party for a potential transaction.

The special committee comprises Kevin Baker, Richard Lachcik and William Wilson.

If the transaction is considered advisable by the committee, it will make recommendations to the board accordingly.

Loncor says no assurance can be provided that the company will enter into any transaction.

Loncor is focused on the Ngayo Greenstone Gold Belt in the Democratic Republic of Congo, particularly the Imbo project, where the Adumbi deposit holds an indicated mineral resource of 1.88-million ounces of gold and two neighbouring deposits hold an inferred resource of two-million ounces of gold – of which 84% is attributable to Loncor.
